Things Do Get Better
Chapter 9
There on the window, written in red paint, was a message. "Watch your back!" it read. I went over to the window and shut the curtain. I flopped down on the bed next to me. I crawled under the covers and shut my eyes. "How? How can one person be so mean to their own daughter?" I thought as I cried myself to sleep.

Meanwhile "I think she should stay with Lance and Joey. They have more room at their house than we do," said Chris. "Yeah, but, what are we gonna do when we leave to go on tour?" asked Joey. "How about we figure that out when we start our next tour," said JC. Lance walked in. "How's she doing?" asked Justin. "She's fine. I think she's kinda glad she's sorta away from everything," Lance replied. "We kinda decided that maybe she stay with you and Joey at your house," said Chris. "OK. It's fine with me," he said. They sat there, not knowing what to say. They were upset for Katie, but mad at the same time. They couldn't understand why someone would do this to their own kid.
