"Hey big guy!" she exclaimed. "Whatta ya know, Joe?"
"Hey Doll-face!" Joey countered, giving Tawnya a quick kiss. "I know noffin'. What about you?" Tawnya launched into a brief (yeah, right) story of her day.
"Mr. Secrum gave us TONS of homework again," the two walked out of the building, hand in hand, towards Joey's car, parked in front of the main building.
" Well," Joey speculated, "at least it's Friday so you have the whole weekend to do it."
" Well, not the whole weekend....Katy's party is on Saturday night and...hey! Speaking of Friday, are we still on for our 8 'o' clock??" Tawnya asked.
" Yup," Joey said as he switched on the radio.
A popular tune came on and the pair started singing along. Loudly. They drove into Tawnya's neighborhood, windows down, heads stuck out, singing crazily. As Joey pulled into Tawnya's driveway, the music was still blasting and neighbors began sticking their heads out of windows and commenting friendlily about the noise.
" Turn that racket down!" one shouted.
" Lousy teenagers!" exclaimed another.
Joey looked at Tawnya. Tawnya looked at Joey. And they both burst out laughing. Joey walked Tawnya to the door, gave her a kiss and waited in the car until she was safely inside. Joey drove away, still be-boppin' to the radio, humming along.
